Case 1 — Scenario-Based Onboarding Module (Banking)

TOOL

Articulate Storyline 360

LEARNING TYPE

Scenario-Based Learning

TARGET AUDIENCE

New Hires (First 30 Days)

Instead of passive content, a structured onboarding experience was designed with interactive decision-making practice and feedback.

Who was this project for?
Designed for new employees in the banking sector during the onboarding process.
What changed?
Passive onboarding materials (presentations) were transformed into an interactive, decision-focused learning experience developed with Storyline.
What did I design?
A branching scenario was designed where participants make decisions similar to real workplace situations, receive feedback, and see the consequences of their choices through guided checkpoints.

Problem

Although new hires complete onboarding training, they still struggle to make accurate decisions in real workplace scenarios.

Design

The module simulates real workplace scenarios and includes a branching structure that provides instant feedback to the learner.

Evidence

The solution design is grounded in Learning & Development literature, experiential learning, transfer of training, and scenario-based learning principles.

Reflection

Scenario-based learning was identified as a strong approach for supporting learning transfer and active decision-making skills during onboarding.

Expected Impact

The solution is expected to improve decision-making skills, reduce manager dependency, and accelerate adaptation to the onboarding process.
